Job Description

Shift 1: Monday - Friday: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Measure and cut material with a mechanical saw
  • Ability to identify structural steel and alloy
  • Read and understand blueprints and/ or drawings
  • Ability to lift and move materials to and from racks to equipment
  • Unloading products received and loading finished products for delivery.
  • Other assigned work as required

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires shop work. When working in the shop, one must exercise caution as this environment presents many naturally occurring and potentially worker-produced hazards. Safety policies must always be adhered to. Appropriate personal protective equipment (i.e., safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and others) must always be worn where required.
  • It is very important that the incumbent of this position can work and communicate with prudence, while effectively managing time, completing tasks, and working safely.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Completion of college/vocational or technical training preferred
  • Appropriate credentials and certifications
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment
  • Ability to work shift work
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to deal with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always
  • Additionally, Saw Operator will be required to read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • (2) years experience as a hem saw operator.
  • Experience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes.
  • Ability to work independently in busy environment.
  • Experience with routine maintenance operations.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in diverse working environments.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always.
  • Computer literate.
