Job Description

What you will do?

Ensure the effective implementation of environmental, health, and safety management systems in new plant opening projects. Ensuring compliance with applicable legal regulations (NOMs, environmental laws, STPS, SEMARNAT, etc.) and corporate standards from the planning stage through operational start-up.

How you will do it?

  • Implement management programs in accordance with current legislation (JCMS, ISO 14001, 45001, FM Global and others.)

  • Ensure training and execution of Management of Change Process in the current and new projects ensuring non penalties in the process.

  • Identify any potential environmental/safety impact and create action plans to avoid recurrence. Develop and implement emergency response plans for new plants

  • Collaborate with contractors and internal areas to ensure compliance with EHS policies during construction, installation, and start up.

  • Document and report EHS indicators from the project stage

  • Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work.

  • Oversees development, planning, and implementation of environmental, health, safety and security policies and procedures.

  • Validate corrective and preventive actions derived from Incident Investigations

  • Perform cost reduction analysis to determinates possible savings and if the projects are approved, implement those changes.

What are you looking for?

  • Degree EHS engineering or similar degree

  • 3 years of experience as EHS Engineer or similar position.

  • Risk management, Mexican laws and regulations (Federal, State and Local) in Environmental & Occupational, Health and Safety matters, waste management and reduction techniques, ISO 14001 – 45001, CTPAT, OEA, Management of Change, job safety analysis, problem solving and incident investigation methods, environmental management systems, occupational health, and safety management systems, MS Office

  • English >80%
