What you will do
Johnson Controls is a global organization focused on helping customers create smarter, safer, and more sustainable environments. In this role, you will support a collaborative pricing deal desk environment and help turn data, market insight, and cross-functional input into pricing recommendations that strengthen customer responsiveness and margin performance.
The Pricing Analyst develops pricing recommendations, researches ratemaking and cost factors, and analyzes current and future state pricing models to support commercial decisions. Success in the role comes from translating complex data into clear guidance for Sales, Operations, and business leaders while helping the organization stay competitive and aligned to enterprise pricing strategy.
How you will do it
Participate in the pricing deal desk by reviewing opportunities and providing recommended price guidance based on deal criteria, stakeholder input, and available data sources.
Develop pricing analysis that examines ratemaking dimensions, cost factors, price realization, and margin impact.
Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, Product, and General Managers / P&L owners to understand customer decision-making criteria, product value, market conditions, and competitive dynamics.
Review current and future state pricing models and help identify opportunities to improve competitiveness and margin expansion.
Support pricing governance by challenging pricing actions that do not align with enterprise pricing strategy.
Help the field team adopt pricing tools and approaches that support faster responses to changing market needs and trends.
Prepare and present pricing analytics, summaries, and recommendations for weekly reporting and monthly or quarterly business touchpoints.
Track pricing trends, discount patterns, and competitive movements to surface risks and opportunities for the business.
Own pricing outcomes with accuracy and accountability, using sound judgment and transparent analysis in every deal review.
Stay close to the work by connecting customer needs, deal criteria, and market realities before recommending a price.
Work cross-functionally and communicate candidly so Sales, Operations, and leadership teams can make timely decisions.
Use a continuous improvement mindset to question assumptions, refine models, and strengthen analyses over time.
Translate large and complex datasets into concise insights that are practical for field teams and business stakeholders.
Support one team decision-making by balancing customer value, margin objectives, and enterprise pricing standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative related fields
Minimum of one year relevant experience working in a pricing related role
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. ability to utilize pivot tables, lookups, aggregate functions)
Demonstrated track record of working cross-functionally with multiple teams
Ability to synthesize data, research, and analyses into simple, concise, accessible, and actionable insights.
Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
Preferred
Working knowledge of CRM (SFDC preferred), CPQ (e.g. Selection Navigator, Oracle, Salesforce), and ERP systems
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $62,000- 93,000(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
