What You Will Do

As an Associate Project Manager, you will oversee the profitable execution of assigned Fire Systems Install projects. Collaborating with Operations Leadership and other teams, you will provide critical input during the project’s development phase to strategize, select vendors, enhance scope, and assess risks. Your role ensures accurate, on-time, and budget-compliant delivery of projects while maintaining a positive cash flow and upholding the highest safety and ethical standards.

How You Will Do It

  • Ensure adherence to stringent safety policies and procedures throughout the project lifecycle, managing resources to align with both site and Johnson Controls standards.
  • Maintain a sharp focus on project scope, costs, resources, and risks to deliver projects efficiently and within budget, evaluating the impact of changes and actively seeking additional business opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement and resolve challenges with direct, effective communication, fostering collaboration and trust among project teams and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure project expectations are clearly understood and met, maintaining compliance with local codes and Johnson Controls' operational standards.
  • Manage project-related financials, including accounts payable, billing, and collections, ensuring timely and accurate submission to maintain cash flow.
  • Develop and nurture long-term client relationships, providing clear communication and updates on project progress, issues, and financial standings.

What We Look For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent field experience.
  • Minimum five years of direct field experience in the building construction industry.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in project management software and financial systems, including MS Project and MS Office Suite.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

HIRING SALARY RANGE - $67,900 - $93,400 annual base salary + commissions (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.) This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take into account project, quarterly, and annual margin. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
