As an Estimation and Proposal Engineer for Fire Protection, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients by delivering high-quality proposals and ensuring compliance with industry standards. What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with consultants, PMC, EPC, and end users to develop budgetary proposals during the FEED stage.
- Organize and maintain tender files, quotations, and associated documentation.
- Conduct site surveys and attend bid clarification meetings, documenting key insights and feedback.
- Review tender documents for clarity, seeking necessary clarifications from clients or department managers.
- Distribute RFQs to sub-vendors and subcontractors in accordance with Johnson Controls policies.
- Follow up with vendors to secure quotations adhering to procurement policies.
- Estimate costs related to products, engineering, labor, and project management.
- Perform peer-to-peer reviews with cross-functional teams including Operations, Legal, Logistics, Procurement, Finance, and Warranty.
- Secure approvals from stakeholders and support DOA approvals as needed.
- Create a register for technical risks and allocate costs accordingly.
- Prepare estimation sheets in compliance with Johnson Controls standards.
- Develop and submit proposals that align with customer needs and adhere to Johnson Controls QA/QC procedures.
- Consult and coordinate with client representatives on technical specifications and clarifications.
- Participate in techno-commercial negotiation meetings alongside management.
- Review draft/final purchase orders for technical compliance and deviations.
- Compile handover files and facilitate handover meetings with the operations team to ensure proper documentation transfer.
- Engage in kickoff meetings with the operations team and respective stakeholders.
How You Will Do It:
- Maintain thorough documentation records for opportunities in accordance with Johnson Controls policies, including RFQ documents, signed proposals, email approvals, and supplier quotes.
- Ensure completion of Johnson Controls training and adherence to GCOE processes.
- Participate in QHSE meetings and training programs, reporting incidents/nearmisses and engaging in investigations as required.
- Assist the HSE officer in ensuring health, safety, and environmental controls are efficiently implemented by reporting non-conformance.
- Liaise with the Quality & HSE department on all aspects of quality and safety.
What We Look For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in fire protection systems.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office applications.
- Knowledgeable about engineering principles and design standards per NFPA, local codes, ADNOC requirements, and oil & gas business needs.
