Sr. Technical Analyst

At Johnson Controls, this role supports a business unit or function through analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design for IT products and projects that support business objectives. You will work closely with business partners and development teams to help ensure solutions are well-defined, successfully delivered, and supported through the full lifecycle.

Role Overview

The Sr. Technical Analyst is accountable for supporting IT investments for a business unit or business function with regional or country-level scope. This role focuses on analyzing needs, gathering requirements, designing practical solutions, and collaborating with development teams to deliver reliable outcomes from analysis through deployment and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for IT products, enhancements, and projects.
• Translate business needs into solution designs, functional specifications, user stories, and process flows.
• Support the analysis, design, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of solutions.
• Work with business stakeholders to define current-state and future-state processes, gaps, and impacts.
• Partner with development teams to clarify requirements, review solutions, and support successful delivery.
• Coordinate and support testing activities, defect triage, and readiness for deployment.
• Provide support for production issues and help resolve system or process-related concerns.
• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and work with related applications and platforms, including SAP, Service Max, Salesforce, Oracle, and other enterprise systems where applicable.
• Help ensure deliverables meet expectations for quality, reliability, performance, security, and compliance.
• Support standardization and continuous improvement across business processes and IT solutions.

Qualifications

• University degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of experience in technical analysis, business analysis, solution design, or a related IT role.
• Experience gathering requirements and documenting business processes, functional needs, and solution details.
• Experience supporting analysis, design, testing, deployment, and support of IT solutions.
• Experience working with development teams and business stakeholders in a collaborative delivery environment.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities and deliver accurate work in a regional or country-level environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with SAP, Service Max, Salesforce, Oracle, or similar enterprise applications.
• Experience supporting cross-functional projects or multi-application environments.
• Experience standardizing processes across lines of business or regions.
