Job Description

What You Will Do

As the Regional Sales Engineer for Indirect Applied Business, you will drive growth across Sub‑Saharan Africa by developing and managing indirect partner channels. You will expand Johnson Controls’ presence by enabling distributors, contractors, and system integrators, while creating demand for our Applied HVAC solutions — including chillers, pumps, and airside equipment.

How You Will Do It

  • Grow and support existing indirect partners, strengthening capability and performance
  • Identify, appoint, and onboard new channel partners across the region
  • Deliver partner training, sales support, and joint business planning
  • Provide pre‑sales engineering support for Applied HVAC solutions
  • Support system design, product selection, and tender submissions
  • Promote chillers, pumps, AHUs, and airside equipment solutions
  • Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline, and forecasts
  • Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and emerging technologies
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, governance, and regional regulations
  • Ensure adherence to local standards, certifications, and import requirements
  • Travel regularly across Sub‑Saharan Africa (50–70%) to support partners and customers
  • You may reside in any city of your choice within South Africa while performing this role

What We Look For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or related field
  • 5–8 years of experience in Applied HVAC equipment sales
  • Experience working with indirect/channel partners
  • Strong knowledge of chillers, cooling systems, pumps, hydronic systems, and airside equipment
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills
  • Understanding of regional market dynamics, compliance requirements, and regulatory environments
