Job Description

Datacenter is a strategic growth priority within China Engineering & Manufacturing, with CDU as one of the key capabilities enabling scalable delivery. This role leads the datacenter growth strategy—owning multi-year planning, cross-functional execution, and customer engagement—while representing Manufacturing/Product to stand up the core delivery capability and ensure scalable, on-time execution. The program targets growth from ~150M to ~300M over the next 5 years through the right portfolio, capacity and capability build-out, and an operating model that can scale. The role works closely with the global team to align strategy, productization/standardization, and operating mechanisms, and to contribute insights and execution learnings back into the global roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the overall Datacenter growth strategy (3–5 year) with a clear roadmap to deliver ~150M → ~300M, including key growth levers (portfolio, capacity, customers, cost competitiveness, and delivery model).
  • Define the datacenter market entry / GTM approach with Sales/BD and Product: target segments, value proposition, pricing/cost position inputs, and repeatable “plays” that scale beyond the first deployments.
  • Lead strategic customer engagement (from early shaping to delivery): translate customer requirements into scalable solutions, manage scope/change, and build long-term expansion plans with key accounts.
  • Partner with global datacenter teams (strategy, product, engineering, operations) to align growth plans to the global roadmap; drive standardization/productization from the manufacturing and product interface, and scale best practices across regions.
  • Build and manage the ecosystem strategy (suppliers, subcontractors, integrators/partners as applicable): qualify partners, set sourcing strategy, and create scalable contracting and performance mechanisms.
  • Own investment and capacity planning with Engineering/Manufacturing/Finance: business cases, build-vs-buy recommendations, capex/opex planning, and utilization/ramp plans to support multi-year growth.
  • Establish the operating model for datacenter growth execution: governance, decision forums, KPI dashboards, and a cadence to drive alignment across Engineering and functions (Supply Chain, Quality, EHS, Finance, Legal, HR, Facilities/IT).
  • Represent Manufacturing to stand up the CDU core team (org design, roles/responsibilities, ways of working) and lead startup preparations to enable repeatable delivery at scale.
  • Lead end-to-end execution for CDU as the initial anchor program: integrated master schedule across design, permitting, construction, commissioning and production launch; drive milestone management and recovery plans to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Own integrated risk and issue management (utilities, permitting, supply chain, yield/ramp readiness, quality, EHS); drive cross-functional mitigation and timely executive escalations.
  • Build reusable assets to scale growth: solution/implementation playbooks, standard work, cost models, supplier performance routines, and lessons learned to accelerate future datacenter deployments.
