Job Description
What you will do
We are seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to lead and scale our procurement function in response to a rapidly expanding global product portfolio. This is a newly created role within a complex, multinational manufacturing environment and will play a critical role in shaping sourcing strategy, supplier partnerships, and cost optimisation across direct and indirect materials.
The successful candidate will bring 10–15 years of progressive procurement and purchasing experience, including leadership of multi‑disciplinary teams, strategic supplier management, and operating within regulated, corporate manufacturing environments. This role will lead a team of 6–8 people and act as a key partner to Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and Product Development teams worldwide.
How you will do it
Strategic Procurement Leadership
Define and execute a global procurement strategy aligned with business growth and new product introductions.
Lead category strategies across direct materials, components, sub-contracts, and selected indirect spend.
Embed procurement early into project and product lifecycle planning to ensure cost, risk, and supply continuity are addressed up‑front.
Project‑Based Procurement & Programme Support
Lead procurement and purchasing activities
Provide end‑to‑end procurement support across the full project lifecycle—from early concept and supplier selection through to execution and ramp‑up.
Work closely with Project Management, Engineering, and Operations teams to align sourcing strategies with project timelines, technical requirements, and budget constraints.
Develop and manage project‑specific sourcing plans, risk registers, and supplier roadmaps.
Ensure suppliers are contractually aligned to project milestones, delivery schedules, and performance KPIs.
Proactively manage procurement‑related risks that may impact project delivery, including lead times, capacity constraints, and single‑source dependencies.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing procurement/purchasing team of 6–8 people, including assigning project ownership and category accountability.
Build project procurement capability within the team through coaching, standard tools, and best‑practice frameworks.
Supplier & Vendor Management
Build strategic partnerships with suppliers capable of supporting project‑driven and scalable manufacturing environments.
Lead complex contract negotiations relating to project scope, pricing, lead times, change management, and liability.
Drive supplier performance reviews with a focus on project outcomes, delivery reliability, quality, and innovation.
Cost, Risk & Value Optimisation
Deliver cost control and value optimisation across projects spend
Balance cost, quality, and schedule requirements in fast‑paced and evolving project environments.
Ensure procurement decisions support long‑term supply resilience beyond individual projects.
Cross‑Functional & Governance
Act as the senior procurement representative in project steering groups and governance forums.
Ensure all project‑related procurement activities comply with corporate policies, contractual standards, and audit requirements.
Leverage ERP and procurement systems to track project spend, commitments, and supplier performance.
