Make a difference with Johnson Controls

At Johnson Controls, we're shaping the future of smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings and mission-critical environments. As a global leader in building technologies and solutions, we help customers achieve operational excellence through innovation, expertise, and collaboration.

We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality commissioning and validation activities for complex projects, ensuring systems are safe, compliant, and ready for operation. Working closely with customers, project teams, and technical specialists, you will help drive successful project delivery from installation through to final handover.

What you will do

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will support project teams across an assigned customer base, taking ownership of commissioning activities, compliance with client requirements, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, maintain strong supplier and customer relationships, and provide technical input throughout project execution.

International travel is an essential part of this role.

How you will do it

  • Support project delivery through all phases, from installation and commissioning to client handover.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and QA/QC teams to understand operational requirements and identify potential improvements.
  • Develop and execute commissioning, qualification, and SAT protocols.
  • Prepare system impact assessments, qualification documentation, and validation reports.
  • Review project documentation for technical accuracy, compliance, and GMP requirements.
  • Ensure systems are safe and ready for start-up, testing, and qualification activities.
  • Perform installation verification, system start-up, and functional testing.
  • Monitor progress, coordinate daily activities, and ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Build strong relationships with client teams and site stakeholders to ensure successful delivery across health & safety, quality, commissioning, and handover activities.

What we look for

  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering and project-related activities, ideally within manufacturing, construction, or mission-critical environments.
  • Technical qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, Mechanical, Fluid Power Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Experience within HVAC systems and Data Centre projects is desirable.
  • Controls or Building Management Systems (BMS) experience is an advantage.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, results-driven, and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident, collaborative, and able to build trust at all levels.

What we offer

At Johnson Controls, you'll join a global team committed to innovation, professional development, and creating sustainable solutions that matter. We provide opportunities to work on cutting-edge projects, collaborate with industry experts, and develop your career in an international environment where your contributions make a real impact.
