Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced and driven Staff Mechanical Engineer. This on-site position in Glendale, WI is responsible for executing projects supporting new product development, and sustaining existing product lines, across a portfolio that includes valves and actuators, refrigeration controls, BAS controllers, sensors, and thermostats.
As a Staff Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of innovative electromechanical products. You will lead mechanical design efforts from concept through production, applying advanced engineering principles, simulation tools, and hands-on prototyping to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions on schedule.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
7+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in electromechanical product development.
Proven expertise in FEA tools and interpreting simulation results to guide design decisions.
Strong knowledge of injection molding, including material selection, DFM, and tooling considerations.
Hands-on experience with motors, actuators, and gear train design.
Proficiency in 3D CAD (Creo preferred) and PLM systems.
Experience with 3D printing and prototyping for iterative design and customer validation.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
Experience in HVAC, building automation, or related electromechanical industries.
Familiarity with sensor integration, embedded control systems, or electromechanical design.
Familiarity with regulatory standards (UL, CE, EN, CSA, etc.).
SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $167,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role offers a competitive Bonus plan that will take into account individual, group, and corporate performance. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
