What you will do

The Vertical Sales Leader – Sustainable Infrastructure - South & West Region is responsible for leading the Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) and Retrofit business for South & West India. This includes driving strategic sales growth, positioning Johnson Controls’ York chillers and digital solutions, and delivering performance-guaranteed projects for clients across pharma, IT, manufacturing, airports, and data centers.

You will develop investor-backed models such as Cooling-as-a-Service (CaaS) and Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS), ensure alignment with client and investor IRR/NPV expectations, and strengthen JCI’s positioning as the market leader in chiller plant optimization, digitalization, and sustainability.

How you will do it

  • Lead the strategic growth of retrofit and EPC business, delivering YoY revenue and gross margin targets.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for chiller plant optimization, decarbonization, and digital infrastructure.
  • Engage with clients, consultants, and investors to structure deals under performance-guaranteed models.
  • Drive commercial negotiations including CAPEX/OPEX models, payment splits and LC arrangements.
  • Oversee deployment of Metasys, Chiller Plant Manager (CPM), and OpenBlue AI/ML-enabled optimization tools
  • Manage delivery of retrofit projects (chiller replacements, EC fans, Pumps, Towers, Controls & Automation, thermal storage, digital controls).
  • Ensure compliance with IPMVP protocols for M&V, baseline adjustments, and carbon accounting.
  • Champion sustainability by aligning projects with ECBC, GRIHA, LEED, and EPI targets.
  • Explore new value streams in carbon credits, grid services, and climate finance.
  • Mentor and manage cross-functional teams (Sales, Service, Factory – India & China) to ensure seamless execution and governance.

What we look for

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • 20+ years’ experience in HVAC, EPC, energy retrofits, or sustainability-driven business leadership.
  • Proven track record in high-value sales, EPC governance, and investor-backed projects.
  • Deep technical knowledge of Chiller Plant Rooms, Optimization Tools, IAQ, Facility Improvement Measures (FIM) and Digital controls.
  • Strong leadership experience in managing diverse, cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, including C-level and investor engagement.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in business or engineering
  • Experience with renewables integration, battery storage, and low-carbon technologies.
  • Established networks in pharma, industrial, data centers, airports, and commercial infrastructure markets.
