Job Summary:
The BMS - Operations and Maintenance Analyst is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the Building Management System (BMS), which controls
various building systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), lighting, and energy management systems. The role includes real-time monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring that building systems are operating efficiently and within set parameters.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and Operate BMS
Continuously monitor and operate Building Management Systems (BMS), including HVAC, lighting, electrical using JCI platforms.
Manage assigned tasks to ensure professional execution, operational continuity, and high levels of customer satisfaction across sites.
System Diagnostics and Analytics
Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting of JCI-controlled systems to resolve alarms and maintain performance.
Apply data analytics techniques to monitor system behavior, uncover performance trends, and provide recommendations for improvements for operational improvements.
Alarms and Faults Handling
Respond to real-time alarms and faults, investigate root causes, and take corrective or escalation actions as per JCI protocols.
Maintain alarm logs and reports, identifying trends and reducing nuisance alarms through system adjustments and stakeholder coordination.
Assist in conducting alarm response training and promote best practices in system monitoring and fault resolution.
Reporting and Data Analysis
Generate reports on alarm activity, energy usage, and system faults for internal review and customer reporting.
Use business analytics insights to identify operational inefficiencies, energy- saving opportunities, and improvement areas backed by real-time and historical data.
Compliance and Safety
Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all BMS activities.
Follow all Johnson Controls and customer-specific safety protocols while working onsite or remotely.
Emergency Response
Serve as the first point of contact for BMS-related emergencies, implementing JCI emergency protocols to restore operations efficiently.
Participate in emergency preparedness initiatives to ensure safety, business continuity, and rapid issue containment.
Data-Driven Decision Making
Use JCI tools and dashboards to support data-driven and business analytics- based decision-making, enabling process optimization and cost savings.
Collaborate with operations, analytics, and engineering teams to implement recommendations from trend and alarm analysis.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency/ Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
Experience: 0-2 years of experience as a BMS operator or similar role in facility management.
Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate system statuses, issues, and resolutions to both technical and non-technical personnel. Demonstrate effective writing skills as well as understanding of programs and software applications.
Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve issues related to system faults or inefficiencies.
Teamwork: Ability to work closely with the facility management team, technicians, and external contractors.
Certifications: Certification in HVAC or related systems (preferred).
Software Skills: Familiarity with BMS software platforms such as Trane, Honeywell, Siemens, or Schneider Electric systems.
Educational Requirements:
Diploma/Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Work Environment:
The role involves working in a control room environment with occasional physical inspection of building systems on-site.
May require working in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
