Job Description
As a Johnson Controls Service Technician, you will serve as a troubleshooting and service expert responsible for the inspection, repair, and replacement of security systems, including burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, and card access systems. You’ll ensure customers and internal teams stay informed of system status and inspection results.
This is a field-based role where you will be equipped with the tools and support needed to work independently.
Locate and resolve issues with damaged equipment or wiring
Repair, readjust, or replace inoperative equipment and perform operational tests
Prepare trouble order forms for temporary repairs
Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other agencies
Service and repair commercial Security/Fire Alarm/CCTV/Card Access systems
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience with fire alarm systems, burglar alarms, CCTV, and card access systems
Hands-on experience with alarm systems or low voltage electronics
Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
Knowledge of test equipment such as multi-meters, digital analyzers, and commissioning tools
Experience with inspection, repair, and programming of fire alarm panels and fire suppression systems
Computer literacy
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Capable of lifting and carrying equipment and tools up to 50–70 lbs.
Comfortable working at heights (up to 40 feet), in confined spaces, or on ladders/scaffolding
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer needs
Strong organizational skills and a customer-focused attitude
Ability to maintain truck inventory and respond promptly to customer needs
Adherence to safety guidelines and procedures at all times
Must obtain Ohio and Kentucky Fire Licenses within 6 months of hire
Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
Preferred:
5+ years of experience in low voltage electrical systems
NICET II certification
Current Ohio and/or Kentucky Fire License
