Job Description

What you will do 

Design and price advanced Fire Detection and Life Safety Systems that meet key industry standards, including BS5839-1 and MOJ specifications. You'll work with integrated systems, applying your knowledge of networking principles and using AutoCAD to deliver smart, site-specific solutions. From technical design to tender delivery, you'll bring a commercial mindset and confidently present innovative ideas to clients.

How you will do it 

  • Develop and present Fire Detection and Life Safety solutions across multi-building locations, demonstrating strong technical design knowledge and commercial awareness.

  • Review and interpret customer requirements to ensure tailored, effective solutions.

  • Manage ambiguity and work to challenging deadlines with confidence and adaptability.

  • Adopt new technologies and innovative approaches to enhance design outcomes.

  • Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Plan and prioritise effectively to manage multiple competing demands.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and best practices.

What we look for 

Required 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Fire and/or Security Role

  • Proficiency in and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word

  • Ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders at all levels

  • Experience working in fast-paced, collaborative environments

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Preferred

  • Site experience including surveying and attending design/customer meetings

  • FIA Advanced Fire Design Certification

  • Proficiency in AutoCad

  • Knowledge of electronic security systems such as CCTV and Access Control

  • Experience with 3D drawing packages such as Navisworks or Revit

  • Familiarity with MOJ requirements for custodial environments
