Machine Operator

Job Description:

1) Set-up and operate one or more machines such as, but not limited to listed machines, to perform various operations:

-Vernon

-Blast

-Drills

-Saws

-Threaders

-Pipe Benders (Manual & CNC)

2) Set-up, and regulate CNC gas burner to burn out a variety of vessels and pipes from ferrous metal.

3) Program special cuts for applications which are not on DNC.

4) Hand punch layout lines as indicated by equipment.

5) Maintain proper identification numbers as required.

6) Assist in planning, cutting and bending pipe to obtain optimum quality, production and efficiency.

7) Read and understand drawings.

8) Work within tolerances as specified on drawings.

9) Select, measure, and form pip and tubing to required drawing specifications.

10) Use mathematics to calculate dimensions.

11) Program pipe bender as required.

12) Inspect and make required adjustments to ensure parts meet drawing specifications.

13) Label parts in accordance with drawing.

14) Detect unusual conditions or material defects and report to proper supervision.

15) Measure and form material to shear, saw, pierce, and form parts.

16) Perform necessary material handling associated with job.

17) Maintain necessary time quality, quantity, and other records.

18) Maintain clean, safe work area and equipment according to 5S standards.

19) Perform operator preventative maintenance. Maintain equipment including tips, filtering systems and operating log.

20) May be called upon to participate within special work teams performing various team related duties including Kaizen events, 5S programs, and problem solving exercises.

21) Follow all safety policies, procedures, and JHRA's.
