Job Description

The Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager is responsible for leading and supporting initiatives that drive operational excellence and improve organizational performance. This role focuses on identifying inefficiencies, developing improvement strategies, and executing Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies across departments. The CI Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization using the Johnson Controls CI framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate Lean Six Sigma projects to improve quality, reduce waste, and optimize productivity.
  • Analyze business processes, identify root causes of inefficiencies, and recommend solutions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on CI methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Collaborate with leadership to align CI initiatives with strategic business goals.
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to monitor performance and track the impact of improvement projects.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through employee engagement and coaching.
  • Conduct regular audits, Gemba walks, and performance reviews to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Manage and prioritize a portfolio of CI projects across departments.
  • Prepare and present reports on project progress and ROI to senior management.
  • Responsible for IDP (Individual Development Plan) and succession planning for all C.I. resources, including Interns, Lean Implementers and Black Belts.
  • Assists Process Owners in identifying areas of improvement and develop strategies to drive changes where needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, or related field (master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in process improvement, operations, or quality roles.
  • Lean Six Sigma certified (Black Belt preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Lean tools (5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Kanban, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proficient in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent English and Spanish required.
