What you will do
As a Senior Project Manager within the UK & Ireland Fire Suppression Major Projects team, you’ll take ownership of the commercial, operational, and EHS aspects of major construction projects. You will lead a team of Project Managers, with full responsibility for project performance, financial outcomes, and delivery against key milestones. A strong focus on change and financial management will help drive profitability and efficiency.
You will collaborate closely with our sales team to support growth, secure key contracts, and deliver technical and operational excellence for our clients.
How you will do it
- Lead the initiation phase: set budgets, build teams, allocate resources
- Monitor project progress and critical paths
- Conduct regular site visits to oversee activities
- Coordinate all work packages effectively
- Liaise with JCI business units to meet project-specific needs
- Lead internal and external teams
- Ensure compliance with EHS and construction industry standards
- Manage costs and identify value opportunities
- Drive team productivity and a positive culture
- Ensure timely project delivery and manage risks proactively
- Oversee and implement contract changes
- Provide regular updates to both JCI and clients
- Collaborate with procurement and manage subcontractors
- Build strong relationships with clients and end-users
- Supervise commissioning, testing, and resolution of faults
- Close projects effectively and conduct post-project reviews
What we look for
Required:
- Proven experience in a senior project management role, ideally within construction or a technical industry
- A valid Driving Licence and relevant industry certifications
- Strong project planning and financial management skills
- Commercial acumen and contract awareness
- Leadership and team management experience
- Background working with Tier 1 contractors on complex, multi-trade sites
- Job-specific CSCS card
- Knowledge of Health & Safety standards and industry codes
- Excellent written communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to interpret CAD drawings
- Proficiency with relevant IT tools
Preferred:
- Fire Suppression industry experience
- SSSTS/SMSTS certification
- IOSH Managing Safely certification
