Job Title: Sitecore Platform Architect

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka-India

Position Overview: 

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced and visionary Sitecore Platform Architect to join our Global Marketing IT team. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of complex, multi-brand, multi-site, and multi-lingual Sitecore solutions. You will oversee the architectural integrity and scalability of Sitecore platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative digital experiences at a global scale. The Sitecore Platform Architect will drive the evolution of the platform, aligning it with industry best practices and emerging technologies to ensure long-term sustainability and growth. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead the architecture and design of enterprise-grade Sitecore SXA solutions that meet the diverse needs of global marketing, content management, and digital transformation initiatives.  

• Guide and mentor development teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable Sitecore solutions that align with business goals.  

• Maintain a deep understanding of the Sitecore platform, including Sitecore XP, Sitecore SXA, Sitecore JSS, and next-gen Sitecore Composable platforms such as Sitecore Personalize, and XM Cloud. Continuously evaluate new features and technologies to enhance the platform's capabilities.  

• Design and implement multi-brand, multi-site, and multi-lingual Sitecore architectures with globally shared centralized SXA component inventories to support complex marketing and business requirements.  

• Oversee the integration of Sitecore with third-party platforms, APIs, cloud services, and external systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.  

• Take ownership of the setup, configuration, and ongoing management of Sitecore environments across production, staging, and development. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve performance bottlenecks, scalability issues, and integration challenges.  

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand complex business needs, and develop innovative technical solutions that optimize user experience, performance, and functionality across platforms.  

• Define and enforce architectural standards, coding practices, and site performance optimization guidelines, ensuring the development of high-quality, secure, and compliant Sitecore solutions.  

• Partner with marketing, content, SEO, UX/UI, security, compliance, and business teams to understand digital marketing requirements and ensure Sitecore solutions are strategically aligned with business objectives and growth targets.  

• Create and maintain comprehensive architectural documentation, including solution designs, integration strategies, and technical roadmaps, to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.  

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the development teams by leading code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentoring junior developers on architectural principles and best practices.  

• Provide technical oversight on multiple agile development teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality Sitecore solutions. Support project management teams to define scope, timelines, and deliverables. 

Qualifications:  

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

• Sitecore certifications, such as Sitecore Certified Professional Developer, Sitecore XM Cloud, are highly preferred. 

• Candidates should have at least 10-15 years of experience in Sitecore development, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior technical leadership or architectural role. This extensive experience is crucial for guiding project teams, making strategic decisions, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex Sitecore projects. 

• Proven experience in architecting, designing, and deploying complex Sitecore solutions at scale is essential. This includes expertise in Sitecore XP, which focuses on experience management, and Sitecore SXA (Sitecore Experience Accelerator) for rapid development. Familiarity with Sitecore JSS for headless development and next-gen platforms like Sitecore Personalize and XM Cloud is also important, as these tools support advanced personalization and cloud-based solutions that enhance user engagement. 

• Extensive experience with integrations involving third-party systems is vital. This includes working with APIs, marketing automation platforms, content management systems, Digital Asset Management (DAM) solutions, and e-commerce systems. Successful integration ensures that Sitecore can function seamlessly within a broader technology ecosystem, facilitating smooth data flow and enhancing overall functionality. 

• A strong knowledge of web development technologies is necessary for effective Sitecore development. Proficiency in the .NET framework and C# is foundational, as these are core to Sitecore’s architecture. Familiarity with MVC architecture, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and React is also important, enabling developers to create dynamic and responsive web applications that align with modern development standards. 

• Experience in migrating Sitecore components to headless architectures is increasingly important in today’s digital landscape. This involves integrating with modern frameworks such as React, Next.js, and GraphQL, which support the development of flexible, component-based applications. 

• Proficiency in cloud platforms, particularly Azure, is crucial for deploying and managing Sitecore applications in cloud environments. Understanding Azure’s capabilities enables the utilization of cloud-based resources for enhanced scalability, security, and performance. 

• Experience with Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, ARM templates) and managing site deployments using modern deployment strategies. 

• Deep understanding of data management, content delivery, and SEO best practices in a Sitecore environment. 

• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to architect creative solutions for complex technical challenges. 

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization..
