Trade Compliance Analyst - Exports
What will you do
The Trade Compliance Analyst - Exports will be an outstanding professional with sound intellectual ability and understanding of the movement of goods across international borders in compliance with relevant customs laws and processes, complying with U.S. export controls and sanctions. You’ll be part of the Global Trade Compliance team supporting and executing the export licenses and agreements of international activities following company policies and customer requirements with mentorship from manager or team members.
This will be a remote role with 25-30% travel. Preferred locations are Largo, FL; Baltimore, MD; Lithia Springs, GA; and Weslaco, TX.
How you will do it
Review Exports and Imports in accordance with Johnson Controls policy and U.S. Government export regulations and laws.
Participates in the investigation of any aspect of proposed export or temporary export by Johnson Controls to verify the legality of any transactions and the accuracy of the information to be submitted.
Participates in the development and presentation of export related training materials.
Provides Johnson Controls Trade Compliance with any required assistance or information needed during the review of a license application.
Maintains export-related record-keeping functions for Johnson Controls as required by regulations.
Participates in conducting internal compliance audits on a periodic basis.
Maintains export licensing records to tracking export licensing history. When requested, prepares and distributes periodic reports on licensing status for use by Johnson Controls personnel.
Position to include air travel to various distribution centers for onsite audits.
Review and disposition export holds in the GTM system.
What we look for
Bachelor's degree {logistics, engineering, tax, business economics) or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3 Years suggested minimum experience.
Knowledge of the current Department of State International Traffic in Arms Regulations {ITAR), and Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations {EAR). Experience with Customs Border and Protection (CBP)
Must be detail-oriented, have good writing skills, and have impeccable organization/interpersonal skills.
Preferred
Experience with ERP systems or similar platforms, Trade Automation a plus.
5 years of experience in a multinational environment (MNC, big 4 consultancy firm, law firm, government, etc.)
