Job Description

What you will do

As a Senior Internal Auditor, you’ll play a key role in evaluating internal controls, financial and management reporting, operational efficiency, and business systems—primarily across our EMEA locations. You’ll present your findings to stakeholders at all levels and contribute to special projects, departmental initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.

How you will do it

  • Lead and execute audits, testing, and special projects across EMEA.

  • Define audit objectives and scope, including risk assessments.

  • Support managers in addressing high-risk areas within tight timelines.

  • Conduct Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) planning and testing activities.

  • Ensure timely completion of audit tasks and SOX compliance.

  • Collaborate with external auditors and internal stakeholders.

  • Conduct interviews and surveys to gather audit insights.

  • Analyze processes for compliance, efficiency, and accuracy.

  • Present audit findings clearly and constructively to management.

  • Prepare thorough and well-documented audit work papers.

  • Contribute to departmental planning and global initiatives.

  • Recommend improvements and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Support investigations, acquisitions, and other special projects.

  • Help build a sustainable data analytics program and support training.

  • Uphold International Standards for Internal Auditing and ethical practices.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 5+ years in finance and 3+ years of experience in internal or external audit.

  • Proven ability to lead audit projects independently.

  • Familiarity with SOX controls and compliance.

  • Strong time management and multitasking skills.

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.

  • A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.

Preferred

  • Professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CIA, or equivalent).

  • Experience working in a Big Four accounting firm.

  • Hands-on experience with SOX audits.

  • Background in auditing manufacturing environments.

  • Experience leading or mentoring teams.

If you are relocating to Bratislava to join Johnson Controls, you will be eligible to receive a housing allowance to help you setup your new life in Slovakia.

The gross monthly salary for this position starts from 2,600 EUR per month, plus a monthly bonus that starts after your first 6 months. Please note this is a minimum salary and our compensation packages are based on your professional experience and qualifications.
