What will you do?

The Supplier Functional Quality Technician III is responsible for ensuring the quality of materials and components supplied to Johnson Controls. You will conduct inspections, manage non-conformance reports, and support the implementation of corrective actions to resolve supplier quality issues. Your work will involve collaboration with suppliers to guarantee compliance with specifications and standards, while also contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

How will you do it?

  • Perform inspections of incoming materials to verify compliance with established quality standards and specifications.

  • Document and report non-conformance issues through the IRIS system, ensuring timely communication with suppliers.

  • Coordinate with suppliers to establish effective containment plans that prevent production disruptions.

  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions in collaboration with suppliers to prevent recurrence of quality issues.

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and follow-up actions within SharePoint and other tracking systems.

  • Assist in the development and execution of inspection plans and quality metrics, supporting supplier performance evaluations.

  • Participate in audits and assessments of suppliers to ensure compliance with Johnson Controls’ quality requirements.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by applying quality tools and methodologies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering and Procurement to support New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts and ensure supplier readiness.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of three years of experience in quality assurance or supplier quality management.

  • Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and techniques.

  • Experience with quality systems, including ISO standards and PPAP processes.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and internal teams.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel as needed to supplier locations.
