We are seeking a Superintendent/Site Safety Specialist to join our federal team based at Camp Mujuk, South Korea. for a multi-year project. As one of the global leaders in sustainability and energy efficiency, our dedicated team here helps with the facilities maintenance for the base with new installations, retrofits, corrective maintenance and service projects, primarily related to the building mechanical systems and building industrial control systems.

Location: All work is based Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) and will require living in South Korea near Camp Mujuk for the duration of the project (multiple years)
Pay: $90,000-$110,000 plus living stipend and car allowance.
Benefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employment
Vacation:
3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (6.5 weeks in total)
Travel Required
: Less than 25%

 

As a Superintendent/SSHO, you will:

  • Supervise the field construction and maintenance process of assigned projects, primarily related to installation, retrofit, maintenance and service of building mechanical HVAC systems and the related industrial control systems (BAS, DDC controls, utilities metering, fire, security, etc), in accordance with the plans and specifications to ensure that each phase of the work is completed on schedule, within the budget, and with the quality workmanship expected by the company and the customer
  • Enforce, facilitate and follow Company and contract safety requirements. Assist with SSHO functions per company standard practices and per contract (COE) requirement if required per the position.
  • At the local project level applies JCFS Safety programs, US Army Corps of Engineers Safety & Health Requirements, as well as state and federal laws for the inspection of equipment and working conditions to prevent accidents, fires and related hazardous events.
  • Supervises, inspects, reviews, records and reports on all site construction related activity ensuring that the assigned subcontractors perform their work on schedule. May supervise one or more projects at the same time.
  • Understand and develop means and methods for the construction/installation or service requirements of the particular project (in conjunction with Project Manager).
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of all employees and subcontractors.
  • Assist with quality control functions per contract (COE) requirements (submittal reviews, daily reports, preparatory meetings and other quality control program features) to ensure project document controls are in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Schedule and plan work tasks, monitor progress of work with schedule updates (in conjunction with Project Manager)
  • Coordinate inspections, verifications, tests, and other contractual requirements with client
  • Participate in regular project/site meetings with subcontractors, architects, engineers, client representatives and other groups.
  • Direct and coordinate subcontractor activities.
  • Is the primary management team member on the site on a day-to-day basis to identify and correct issues or deficiencies and/or escalate issues and deficiencies up the management chain to Project Manager and/or regional management.
  • Performs other duties as required

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of project coordination, project development, and/or supervision of construction or service projects in the commercial and/or industrial building construction industry.
  • Understanding of OSHA, USACE safety regulations (EM-385-1-1), NAVFAC, ANSI, NFPA 70-E, and other State and Federal regulatory standards
  • Experience of overseeing technical trades related teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for employee supervision and client interface.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic Windows environment
  • OSHA 30 certification or the ability to obtain and maintain one within 90 days of start date.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances at level required for assigned projects (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the creation of site specific Accident Prevention Plans (APP), Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA), or other safety related plans
  • Knowledge of commercial or industrial HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical or Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Experience working with Federal Government or Department of Defense projects

 

Preferred Education

 

  • Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Electronics or Mechanical systems, or equivalent work experience
  • 30-hr OSHA Construction Safety Class
