What You Will Do
As a Logistics Specialist at Johnson Controls, you will be a key contributor to the efficiency and accuracy of our logistics operations. You will serve as the subject matter expert for ProShip, manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and ensure seamless coordination across outbound and inbound logistics functions. This role is critical in supporting shipping coordinators, validating shipments, and resolving operational escalations to maintain high service standards.
How You Will Do It
Serve as the ProShip expert, providing technical support and resolving system-related issues across the logistics network.
Coordinate outbound escalations with 3PLs, including managing and removing backorders as necessary.
Oversee carrier performance and ensure timely resolution of service issues.
Provide daily operational support to shipping coordinators to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.
Manage drop-ship operations in alignment with customer and internal compliance standards.
Validate outbound packages for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to shipping protocols.
Act as the primary contact for Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) regarding logistics-related escalations.
Conduct root cause analysis for international shipping discrepancies and method variances.
Ensure international shipments comply with customs and regulatory requirements.
Execute invoice jobs and maintain accurate billing and documentation for outbound shipments.
Respond to operational inquiries from 3PLs and internal stakeholders.
Support inbound logistics and manage escalations across the broader Operations team.
What We Look For
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
Demonstrated experience in logistics, shipping operations, or supply chain management.
Proficiency in ProShip and logistics software platforms.
Familiarity with 3PL operations and carrier management.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience with international shipping and customs documentation is a plus.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Salesforce and MS Visio.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
