What you will do:
Johnson Controls invites you to apply for an internship located in Glendale, WI. You will support the Johnson Controls Communications team that is focused on creating an impactful and inspiring communication strategy that enables a positive employee experience and drives business growth for our Americas region.
In this role, you will be instrumental in the support of planning and executing communication strategies across multiple channels and for a diverse audience. Working with the wider communications team, you will strive to continually evaluate and improve our capabilities, resources, and communication vehicles for all employees, regardless of role and location, while bringing new and innovative ideas to the table.You will have an opportunity to work cross functionally with Communications, Public Relations and Operations teams. Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below.
How you will do it:
Support the deployment of the communications strategy for Americas Operations leaders, reinforcing the vision, purpose and goals of the organization.
Develop a meaningful understanding of the strategic business needs to create compelling stories and key messages and communicate them in a simple, engaging, impactful and informative way.
Be passionate about the methods and messaging our field employees are most receptive and responsive to.
Develop compelling content that builds understanding and drives action across Americas region from our key stakeholders.
Support and reinforce processes and protocol to ensure accurate dissemination of timely and impactful information.
Learn about new and different ways of communicating to engage all employee persona groups.
Develop an understanding for the KPIs and metrics important to the business as well as channels and methods for tracking and monitoring data. Support execution of measurement plans and campaigns to demonstrate value.
Collaborate with marketing, public relations and social media to create integrated campaigns and leverage existing content.
Support various communications programs from concept to completion as assigned by your manager.
Required Qualifications:
Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
Pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism
An effective communicator to all levels of the organization
Must have demonstrated computer skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.

Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and independently
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) preferred
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to quickly gather and synthesize information from a variety of sources; aptitude for translating complex topics and issues into broadly understandable messages to employees.
Proactively seeks out learning opportunities; self-starter.
Excellent organizational skills.
Creative
Collaborative approach but able to work independently as needed.
Previous internship or related experience in communications
