Technical Lead I
What you will do
As a member of Johnson Controls India, this position will be part of the IEC global platforming project team that supports the GEC for Global Hardware Platforming program for electronics components and products for different PBUs. He/she will be responsible for JCI product & component level data analysis from the various resources such as PLM, ERP, SharePoint etc. and design and development support to the global platforming team. He/she will have to interact with different stakeholders from different departments of JCI such as all engineering teams, procurement teams, platforming SMEs, design & library teams, etc. This person will understand different JCI products/business and their design, manufacturing, and documentation best practices & possess the capability to manage changes. He/She will coordinate with teams for System and Platform review, BoM scrubbing and supporting the hardware design and validation programs.
How you will do it
- Involve in Electronic product development and support hardware circuit design, circuit simulation, BOM preparation & review, BOM cost analysis, BoM lifecycle management and performing functional testing
- Experience with product design including circuit design, system bring-up, integration, and debugging
- Specify appropriate test requirements that will prove our design is fit for use
- Design for reliability with appropriate component derating and analysis
- Engage with DFX review (DFM, DFT and DFA)
- Engage with internal and outsourced development partners on Embedded hardware design and development for Analog and Mixed Signal design
- Communicate within the team to understand requirements and initiate proof of concept implementation
- Investigation of design options to reduce costs, improve performance and manufacturability
- Provide analysis report either in excel pivot tables & charts or dashboard and/or in PPT
What we look for
- BE/ME in ECE/EIE/EEE with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience
- Must have strong experience in BoM scrubbing, BoM management, components costing and identifying Form-Fit-Function (FFF) alternates for both passive and active components
- Must have strong experience in using Silicon expert
- Should have understanding of RoHS and REACH compliance
- Should have an understanding of Circuit Design using Op-amps, BJTs, MOSFETs, Diodes etc
- Hands-on exposure to Board level specification, component selection, schematic design, layout guidelines, board bring-up, and Test procedure
- Must have in-depth experience with technical attributes for connectors (both THT and SMD types)
- Should have ability to perform basic board bring-up for hardware projects
- Proficient in PLM systems, especially PTC Windchill, with knowledge of CR (Change Request), ECN (Engineering Change Notice), and FCN (Form Change Notice) processes
- Basic understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFA (Design for Assembly), and DFT (Design for Testability) principles
- Basic understanding of eCAD tool (Altium, Mentor graphics) would be preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Strong communication skills and be able to discuss technical topics with individuals and groups with a wide range of technical backgrounds
