Job Title: QA Engineer- Web

Position Overview: 

Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled QA Engineer - Web to join our global Marketing IT team supporting the development of public-facing websites. The QA Engineer will play an essential role in ensuring the quality, validation, and performance of our web-based solutions, collaborating closely with development teams to deliver seamless, high-performing, and secure digital experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in quality assurance best practices and web testing, especially in the context of public-facing websites. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, security, and performance. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, project managers, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and ensure quality assurance is integrated into the development lifecycle. 

• Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases based on business requirements, technical specifications, and user stories. Perform functional, non-functional, regression, and performance testing. 

• Conduct thorough functional and regression testing for web solutions, ensuring that features, functionality, and business logic are working as expected across different browsers, devices, and environments. 

• Assist with performance and load testing to ensure the scalability and responsiveness of web solutions, identifying potential bottlenecks or issues. 

• Identify, report, and track defects in the system. Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues efficiently and ensure quality standards are met before release. 

• Ensure the application’s responsiveness, accessibility, and compatibility across various devices, browsers, and operating systems. 

• Maintain documentation of testing processes, test cases, results, and known issues, providing regular reports on progress, risks, and quality metrics. 

• Collaborate with marketing, content, UX/UI, and business teams to ensure user-facing features are fully tested, validated, and aligned with business objectives. 

• Assist with security testing to identify vulnerabilities and ensure solutions meet organizational security standards and best practices. 

• Support continuous improvement of the QA process by staying updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies to enhance team efficiency and product quality.. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in quality assurance, testing, and validation, specifically for web-based solutions and public-facing websites. 

• Experience with Sitecore-based solutions (Sitecore XP, Sitecore SXA, Sitecore JSS) is a plus. 

• Experience in testing and validating cross-browser and cross-device compatibility of websites. 

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment, with familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms. 

• Experience using defect tracking tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar tools. 

• Experience with security testing and accessibility testing to ensure secure and inclusive user experiences. 

• Strong analytical skills to understand technical requirements and identify actionable insights. 

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

• Strong attention to detail, ensuring thorough testing of all aspects of the product to meet the required quality standards. 

• Relevant certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, Certified ScrumMaster, or similar) are a plus.
