What You’ll Do

As a Fabrication Welder in our UST Building, you will weld carbon and stainless steel pipe using TIG welding techniques. You’ll ensure structural integrity and quality while adhering to ASME code and company safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Fit, tack, and weld out pipe using TIG welding.
  • Operate Miller and Lincoln scratch start welding machines.
  • Set up and adjust welding equipment for voltage, current, and gas flow.
  • Perform high-quality welds with precision and attention to detail.
  • Inspect welds and structures for defects and compliance.
  • Collaborate with team leads to meet project deadlines.
  • Follow all safety protocols and environmental health standards.

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • TIG welding experience.
  • Ability to pass a 6G TIG Weld Test on:
    • 2" schedule 80 carbon steel pipe, and
    • 2" schedule 40 stainless steel pipe.
  • Ability to work 1st shift (Mon–Thurs, 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM) and overtime as needed.
  • Strong attendance and work ethic.
  • Physical stamina to stand, bend, and lift.

Preferred

  • Pipe fitting experience.
  • Sub arc welding experience.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions up to 20% of the time.
  • Must be able to read a standard tape measure accurately.
  • Must have visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses, sufficient to read blueprints and inspect welds.
