Our Norman Manufacturing Plant is a state-of-the-art facility supporting the research, design, manufacturing, and testing of our rooftop products. The 950,000-square-foot facility includes almost 400,000 square-feet of incremental laboratory and manufacturing space and renovations to over 150,000 square-feet of office and meeting space.

What you will do

The Materials Supervisor is responsible for material handling operations and maintains inventory accuracy of all raw material to include any off-site warehouses used for the storage of products. This position is responsible for all material handling team members to include forklift operations and line stocking employees who support production schedules. The Materials Supervisor will model operational best business practices. Excelling in inventory accuracy, SAP training, SAP transactional integrity and standard work across all team members are essential for the success in of this role.

How you will do it

  • Manage the storage and movement of materials within multiple warehouses, the production floor and any offsite warehouse.

  • Maintain training plans, standard operating procedures and standard work instructions for all Material Handlers.

  • Drive changeover meetings to review KPI’s between shifts.

  • Focus on a safety culture.

  • Ensure all warehouse operations have proper material handling equipment, PPE and other resources to complete tasks in a timely manner.

  • Assist in resolving issues or potential issues that are related to warehouse or material control within the plant floor.

  • Communicate performance expectations to team members and provide coaching to reinforce positive performance.

  • Support shop floor initiatives which include strategizing with your team.

  • Lead by example to promote employee engagement and teamwork.

  • Ensure that employees are following Johnson Controls Safety Rules and OSHA regulations.

  • Audit SAP transactions related to inventory movements. Identify root cause and corrective actions to resolve discrepancies.

  • Prepare action plans to achieve results and growth objectives.

  • Maintain effective working relationship and communication with all departments.

  • Drive continuous improvement activities. Implement lean manufacturing practices measured through reduced pick time and improved inventory turns.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What we look for

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing materials management experience in a warehouse or production control environment OR Associate degree and a minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing materials management experience in a warehouse or production control environment OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of Warehouse Supervisor experience in a manufacturing materials environment.

  • Proficiency using MS Office Suite.

  • Ability to work 1st Shift (5:00AM – 3:00PM, Monday-Friday) as well as weekend overtime as needed. NOTE: Hour could change in the future based on business need.

Preferred:

  • SAP experience.

  • RF scanning experience.
