What you will do:

Under leadership direction, you will work on the truck-based team, providing routine, periodic service, and inspections on Mechanical HVAC equipment at customer sites.

How you will do it:

  • Change and Service Filters

  • Oil and Grease Bearings 

  • Perform Belt adjustment and replacement services. 

  • Perform Cooling Tower and Condenser Maintenance (coils, evaporators, and tubes) 

  • Perform general housekeeping tasks as required by customer contract. 

  • Operate mechanical equipment if deemed necessary by customer contract. 

  • Operate maintenance tasks using basic hand tools as needed.

  • Perform Indoor Air Quality related maintenance including but not limited to the cleaning of duct systems and drain pans.

  • Transport rigging equipment to and from sites as needed.

What we look for or require:

  • Must be able and willing to work flexible shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call- outs when assigned

  • The successful candidate must be a licensed Journeyman HVAC Mechanic, certified under Ontario 313A (Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic), and possess a valid G2 Gas Technician License and ODP (Ozone Depletion Prevention) Certification

  • Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Must have the ability to use hand tools, lift/carry 50 lbs., and to work on ladders/step stools.

  • Requires working extended periods on his/her feet in a fast-paced environment Knowledge and Skills

  • More than 5 years of facility maintenance experience in hospital, university, food, manufacturing environment, or any other commercial or industrial institutions

  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

  • Must have good communication skills (verbally, written); must be able speak and write in English. - Must be familiar with use of building automation systems (BAS)

  • Working knowledge of computers and handheld devices

  • Positive, professional disposition towards work and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and supervisors and to contribute to a project team. - Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency

  • Ability to succeed in a team-oriented environment under very dynamic (changing) conditions

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of JCCLP and client related business activities Supervision and Direction

  • Reports to the Operations Manager(s) on duty

  • Receives and follows work direction and assignments from Central Dispatch Services (CDS) and designated Lead Hands

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

  • This position requires a current clean driver's license/abstract.

  • Must be a good standing member with the LOCAL 787

  • Must be flexible to travel

  • Must have 10 years of Canadian Residency to obtain valid Secret Clearance with Canadian government.

Preferred:

Being bilingual is considered an asset.

Pay Range: $63.33 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. However, we recognize that exceptional candidates may bring unique skills and experiences that exceed the typical profile.
