Paint Equipment Setup Operator
Johnson Controls is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paint Equipment Setup Operator/Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of paint and wastewater treatment systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine technical, mechanical, and chemical expertise to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations across both paint line and wastewater treatment processes.

$24.98 + $1.75 shift differential

What You Will Do:
Paint Equipment Responsibilities:
Set up and operate painting, cleaning, and testing systems including electrostatic, bulk storage, electro deposition, and metal pre-treatment systems
Perform chemical and physical testing (e.g., pH, titration, viscosity, conductivity, temperature, voltage) to maintain paint system quality
Record and maintain data on test results and production activity
Adjust equipment to maintain required paint film thickness, texture, gloss, and adhesion
Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on painting equipment
Set up and maintain powder paint booths and manual parts washers
Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition
Monitor parts for defects and report recurring issues to supervisors
Wastewater Treatment Responsibilities:
Monitor gauges, pumps, valves, and control systems in treatment stations
Perform lab sampling and testing to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal wastewater regulations
Operate and maintain sewage pump stations and water quality monitoring equipment
Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on treatment equipment
Record operational and laboratory data for regulatory and internal reporting
Support ISO, EPA, and city inspections as required
What We Look For:
High school diploma or GED
At least 1 year of related experience in manufacturing or utility operations preferred
Forklift license (or ability to obtain)
Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical instructions
Experience using measurement tools such as micrometers, tape measures, and scales
Preferred experience in wastewater utilities or paint system maintenance
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs (with assistance for heavier loads)
Frequent standing, bending, climbing stairs, pushing, and pulling
Ability to raise arms overhead and perform repetitive motion tasks
Visual acuity and attention to detail required for equipment setup and inspection
Ability to work in industrial conditions (heat, noise, chemicals) for extended shifts
