What you will do

Assists the responsible person in performing the required duties for the completion of installation-related tasks for electronic product lines and standard electronic systems. Observe the actions of the responsible person(s) and apply as directed.

How you will do it

Helping with the installation of electronic systems, including start-up through final testing. Follow verbal and written instructions, and read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.

Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds. Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet or more. 

Maintain a clean and safe work area. Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with SimplexGrinnell's work. 

Wear appropriate safety equipment as required, including but not limited to hard hats and work boots.

May be required to work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements. 

Perform other duties as requested.

Daily submission of required paperwork.

What we look for 

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Follow verbal and written instructions, and read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.

  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.

  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.

  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.

  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.

  • Overtime/Overnight stay may be required during busy project schedules.

Preferred

  • Experience in an electrical trade preferred.

  • Construction experience preferred.

  • Low-voltage experience is a plus.

  • 2 years of Fire Alarm and/or Security System experience.
