What you will do
The SAP Basis Operations Administrator provides expert guidance to SAP Basis Administrators and Support Analysts, ensuring the optimal configuration, performance, and security of SAP systems across all Johnson Controls enterprise data centers. This role is critical in maintaining system integrity, supporting incident resolution, and driving continuous improvement in SAP infrastructure operations.
How you will do it
Lead and support SAP Basis configuration and administration in alignment with the defined RACI matrix.
Monitor and optimize system performance, executing tuning activities to ensure high efficiency and throughput.
Track system resource utilization, support capacity planning through data analysis, and recommend hardware scaling (upsize/downsize).
Provide second-level support for incident and problem management, resolving complex hardware and software issues within agreed SLAs.
Manage vendor relationships for software updates, ensuring systems remain compliant with support requirements.
Apply IT Security policies to SAP and database platforms, maintaining a secure operating environment.
Oversee SAP system maintenance, including upgrades, preventive and corrective actions, through structured change management processes.
Ensure service continuity via robust backup and recovery procedures for hardware and application failures.
Maintain and test Disaster Recovery (DR) plans, participating in regular DR rehearsals.
Adhere to SOX compliance requirements, maintain procedures, and collect audit evidence.
Stay current with SAP Basis platform developments, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency, capacity, and capabilities.
Collaborate with Global Infrastructure Architecture, Project Engineering, Application Managed Services, and Business teams.
Foster cross-functional cooperation to achieve business goals and project milestones.
Participate in planning and execution of server workload migrations and consolidations.
Produce clear and effective technical documentation for internal IT teams.
Demonstrate a strong customer service mindset, responding to expectations with urgency and professionalism.
Uphold company ethics and standards in all aspects of work.
What we look for
Required
Proven experience with SAP Basis platform (ABAP and JAVA stacks).
Strong background in Linux and Windows environments.
Hands-on experience with HANA databases.
Deep understanding of SAP system configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
Ability to work effectively across diverse teams and organizational levels.
Willingness to provide off-hours on-call support as required.
Preferred
University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud, Azure, etc.).
Familiarity with MSSQL, Sybase, or Oracle.

The gross monthly salary for this position starts from 2,600 EUR per month, plus a monthly bonus that starts after your first 6 months. Please note this is a minimum salary and our compensation packages are based on your professional experience and qualifications.
