You will work as a Strategic Buyer responsible for the Indirect Spend for multiple Johnson Controls sites (starting with the sites in Echt and Enschede, possible expansion with other sites may follow), a dynamic  role where you officially report to the Senior Procurement Manager EMEA. You will become part of a great EMEA Procurement team (15 FTE in total) based in Echt and Enschede (The Netherlands), Lammhult (Sweden), Letchworth (UK) en Milan (Italy). You will get a lot of responsibility, and you can work independently. But also, a role in which there is room for personal development and development opportunities within the Johnson Controls organization.

You mainly work from our office in Echt, in consultation, partial working from home is also possible for this role.

Your tasks

• Managing/responsibility for the indirect spend for various sites. Selection and sourcing of new suppliers. Negotiations with the suppliers about the conditions, Legal and logistical/service conditions. Where applicable, you do this together in a team with key stakeholders for the relevant product groups such as SME’s (subject matter experts) and/or Category Managers (European or global Category Managersl)
• Take ownership of continuous improvement initiatives to improve cost and supplier performance for your portfolio/spend
• Continuous monitoring of possibilities to achieve efficiency improvements, but also detecting potential risks is part of your tasks
• Making spend analyses, benchmarking studies and conducting market research
• Strive/responsibility to deliver annual cost savings
• Challenge both suppliers and the own organization to arrive at the most optimal solution for the supply and/or development of parts, equipment and/or services
• You play an important role in the growth and development of the department and the company. Together with the other team members you help to achieve our common goals, in particular those focusing on (internal) customer satisfaction, supply base improvements and cost reduction

What do we ask from you

Requirements:

• Proficient in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing
• At least 5 years of strategic procurement and sourcing experience, in a similar business environment, preferably in Building Technology and or warehouse/distribution center activities
• Familiar with MS Office, experienced in Excel
• You are proactive, well organized, independent, dynamic and a great team player
• Analytical minded
• Strong personality and commercial negotiator
• Communicative skills
• Focus on details, improvements and results

Preferably:

• Bachelor, in the field of Supply Chain (e.g. NEVI) or Operations Management
• Work experience at a multinational
• Living within a maximum radius of 50 km around Echt
• German proficiency is an advantage
