What do you do?

Join us in the Center for Procurement Acceleration as a BI Engineer III. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing best-in-class Business Intelligence by deploying business analytics, data visualization, data modeling, data mining and infrastructure to help the organization make more data-driven decisions.

The BI Engineer is responsible for scoping, analyzing, developing, automating, enhancing, and validating BI reporting and analytics, as well as dashboard solutions. They will also lead the strategy and roadmap of their assigned areas.

How will you do it?

  • Transform complex data sets into conclusions and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards using Power BI or other tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Produce automated, user-friendly reporting systems and dashboards.
  • Support data visualization by monitoring queries, addressing data integrity issues, and troubleshooting problems with input from cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs, providing reliable data insights for strategic goals.
  • Design and build critical reports, such as Scorecards and Compliance reports.
  • Understand end-user needs for production.
  • Document requirements and build data models for final reports, taking ownership of creating metrics and analyses for key decisions with contributions from cross-functional teams.
  • Support annual activities and RFPs for Procurement Categories (i.e. MRO, Professional Svcs, Fleet, etc.) by performing data extraction, data cleansing, and data prep for bidding purposes.
  • Train stakeholders by creating dashboards together and promoting Dashboard usage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields (Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or similar)
  • 4 + years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence, BI Data Engineering, or other related fields 
  • Advanced SQL skills for acquiring and transforming data.
  • Proficiency to draw insights from data and clearly communicate (verbal/written) information to stakeholders and senior management as required.
  • Experience configuring and using Power BI or Tableau applications to effectively visualize and demonstrate proposed user interface dashboard and scorecard solutions.
  • Expertise in developing, managing, and maintaining Power BI/ Tableau dashboards and analytics.
  • Power BI or Tableau Desktop certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT design/development using either Alteryx or SSIS.
  • Understanding high-level programming languages. Python preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and extract relevant information from large, complicated data sets of structured and unstructured data.
  • Ability to adhere to plan developments, resolve roadblocks and adhere deadlines in a competing priorities environment.
  • Demonstrate ability to story tell with data, as well as identify and root-cause both outliers and critical errors within the data.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify and implement change, drive results, provide value-added analysis to assist Procurement leaders make informed decisions.
  • Given the global nature of the role, advanced English is necessary.
