What will you do?

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for monitoring supplier quality performance and ensuring compliance with Johnson Controls' quality standards. You will work closely with suppliers to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and to ensure that products meet customer and engineering requirements.

How will you do it?

  • Conduct audits and assessments of supplier processes, products, and systems to identify potential quality issues and develop solutions.

  • Facilitate root cause analysis for supplier non-conformance incidents and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.

  • Monitor supplier performance metrics, including PPM (Parts Per Million) and warranty claims, and drive improvement initiatives based on findings.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and establish quality standards for new products.

  • Develop training programs for suppliers on quality management tools and methods to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate activities related to incoming inspections, sorting, and material rejections as necessary.

  • Prepare and present reports on supplier quality performance and improvement initiatives to management and stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supplier quality management or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of quality systems and methodologies, including ISO standards, Six Sigma, and Lean manufacturing.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive actionable improvements.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
