Within procurement overall responsible for the category of Fan motor, Reactor, Transformer and processor including supplier management, market intelligence like cutting edge technology, and internal business needs. You will develop and execute Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning’s sourcing strategy and reduce total cost of ownership for the categories assigned to you. You will be a key member of Sourcing team that drives continuous improvement in support of Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning's rapid growth. As a SME, you will be expected to lead and participate on large projects as well as understand and resolve complex issues that put company objectives at risk. Work with upper management to lead global Category team to develop Strategies for the assigned Categories and execute strategies at Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning plants. Lead sourcing process with support of cross functional teams in market analysis, RFI/RFQ, negotiation, evaluation, site audit, sampling, qualification, ramp-up, and contracting. Manage supplier performance to world class in Cost, Quality, Delivery and technology alignment. Conduct Quarterly Business Review’s with key suppliers to ensure full alignment at all tiers of communication. Implement VAVE, Business Continuity, Knowledge Based Sourcing, and Financial Status assessment, “best in class” Supply chain improvements program at suppliers. Contracting with suppliers considering best value to Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning in cost, payment term, warranty, and delivery. Develop and execute TCO (total cost of ownership) reduction plan to achieve goal in cost reduction, TWC, delivery, quality and sustainability. Keep coaching and developing global buyers to improve category team’s skills & competency. Understand well the market of HVAC and manufacturers of the commodities assigned. Establish market intelligence in this industry. Keep track of the cutting edge of market development and new technology applied. Lead supply base rationalization, LCC sourcing, and Make vs Buy decisions. Support Material Control team to launch VMI, JIRA escalation mitigation etc.

What you will need

Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree or advanced degree in a related discipline.

Additional qualification in Supply Chain Management would be appreciated.

Minimum 10+ years of experience of Procurement or Supply Chain Management, with at least 5 years of Category Management experience with spend responsibility of $100M+.

Rich experience with and familiar with supply market of at least one of below commodity when working at MNC: a. Sub assembly/ key components of Air Conditioner, such as Compressor, Motor, Copper tube, Steel Fabrication, PCBA, PCB, Electronic Components, Electrical Parts

Strong communication, negotiation & Problem-solving skills.

Being good at managing complexity of demand, such as high-mix-low volume, NPI support, etc.

Able to work under great pressure in fast paced industry

Prior leadership or management experience.

Ability to drive change with a long-term perspective across multiple functions and transform the business.

Good Business and Financial Acumen
