Duties and Responsibilities:

§ Troubleshoot, service, and repair all types of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Process Control systems including but not limited to Pneumatic, Electric, Electronic & Direct Digital Control.

§ Installs, modifies, and repairs building level and floor level distributed controllers, temperature transmitters, pressure transmitter, humidity transmitters, differential pressure transmitters and energy meters.

§ Modifies system graphics and building time schedules. Edits and maintains critical system alarms.

§ Modifies control programming to improve process controllability and reduce energy consumption.

§ Interprets and updates mechanical plans and prints as necessary.

§ Provides responsive customer support with emphasis on customer satisfaction.

§ Maintains energy operations office and field work locations in a neat and professional manner.

§ Ensures that all tasks are performed in accordance with high industry standards.

§ Reviews and assists in modifying Preventative Maintenance Tasks for control systems calibration process as related to the Maximo Work Order Management System.

§ Works closely with other skilled trades to resolve problems with HVAC & Process Systems.

§ Assists and advises customers on maintenance solutions and provides follow-up on progress and status of work.

§ Works independently under the guidance and direction of the Utilities/Facilities Engineer and Lead Controls Automation Technician.

§ Assist in the oversight of safety program and establish preventative maintenance programs.

§ Assist in the preparation of reports and analysis setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.

§ Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Requirements:

Experience in HVAC control systems installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and related work. Must have relevant experience troubleshooting and repairing DDC control systems. Direct Digital Control programming experience such as PPCL, SAGE SPL, EIKON ( Graphical Programming ) or Modular Object Oriented Programming is helpful.

Strong Mechanical Systems knowledge and a full understanding of airflow and IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) issues is required.

Must have the ability to read and interpret detailed plans, specifications, operating manuals and other written materials associated with this trade.

Must be able to effectively communicate with peers and customers, clearly and professionally at all time.

Must posess a demonstrated sense of ownership and pride in work along with a service-oriented approach.

Must be able to work independently, take initiative when necessary as well as capable of working as a member of a team in conjunction with other trades.

Technology Skills Required:

Must be able to operate direct digital controls diagnostic equipment.

Must have experience with calibration equipment such as signal generators / loop calibrators, electronic and pneumatic, temperature and pressure calibrators.

Qualifications

Requirements:

o Five (5) years experience in HVAC and Process Control systems, operation, maintenance, repair, and calibration.

o Must have experience troubleshooting and repairing DDC control systems.

o Must have experience operating a PC based, Windows operating system environment, Building Management System (Siemens Insight a plus).

o Must have the ability to read and interpret detailed drawings, sequence of operations, specifications, operating manuals.

o Must be able to effectively communicate with peers and customers, clearly and professionally at all times.

Additional Skills/Qualifications:

o Refrigeration License

o Insight or Metasys programming

o Infrared Thermography

o Vibration Analysis
