Typical Duties:
· Develops and directs plant continuous improvement projects with a goal toward improving process efficiency and conversion costs.
· Maintains dotted line responsibility to the Group Director of Continuous Improvement.
· Manages and directs the activities of the Plant Continuous Improvement Department, to include Black Belts, Maintenance, and Quality.
· Using statistical methods, leads department activities in the areas of data collection and analysis in order to identify and evaluate proposed process changes.
· Documents and presents proposed projects to the Plant Manager and Group Director of Continuous Improvement for project approval.
· Manages the development and maintenance of all project documentation, including drawings, to assure their accuracy and availability for consistent project implementation.
· Provides timely communication of project progress and outcomes to the Plant Manager and Group Director of Continuous Improvement according to established timelines.
· Designs, develops and implements tests and statistical process control procedures to achieve quality specifications for all manufacturing processes.
· Provides support to other plants, as needed, during the implementation of approved process changes.
· Provides performance feedback to direct reports.
· Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
* Minimum 7 years experience in manufacturing environment with at least 3 years directly managing people.
* Able to travel up to 25-30%.
* Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, analysis, and PC skills.
* Black Belt Certification.
* Experience with Lean Manufacturing Implementation.
