Reporting to the VP & GM - Americas (solid) and VP BP & IT PS - Global (dotted), this role is responsible for leading Power Solution's SLI Americas IT Organization (i.e. PS IT-Americas). Responsibilities include leading the IT development and support organizations. Ensures the IT strategy and function supports PS-Americas business strategies. Works closely with the PS IT-Global and Corporate IT organizations to deliver regional and global applications that meet business objectives while adhering to IT standards. This role is directly responsible for managing those PS-Americas systems that support the Supply Chain Management and Operations organizations.

In the future, this position will lead regional Business Process Management (BPM) efforts to support SLI America's drive to become business process excellent. This will be accomplished by enabling Americas' business process operating model via the application of leading business practices and systems.

Over the next several years this position will assist with the business process design and rollout of an Americas-wide, SAP based, ERP solution (i.e. AES), while addressing other business process/system improvement needs outside the scope of AES.

The position requires a demonstrated ability to manage a diverse portfolio of projects, quickly mediate between competing priorities, and work effectively with IT colleagues, contractors, and business management both within and across business units and geographic regions.

Finally, this leadership role is responsible for the management, development and engagement of its people, including the hiring of staff, their instruction, coaching and evaluation.

Duties:

* Meets with business process owners and staff to understand business requirements that form their business process improvement and IT needs. Is able to translate business needs into application requirements and plans to best service internal and external customers.
* Knows how a manufacturing businesses work. Understands the core business drivers of the SLI business models and stays current with business changes and their effect on business processes.
* Knowledgeable in current and future processes, polices, trends, competition and information affecting his/her external and internal customers. Excellent at business process management and continuous improvement. Understands how to figure out processes necessary to get things done.
* Identifies and quantifies solution drivers and translates into value. Develops compelling explanations for business cases and presents them. Must be able to gain agreement to move forward.
* Adept at systematically managing significant numbers of planned and unplanned initiatives, system enhancements and ongoing application support. Able to quantify efforts, enabling measurement and objective evaluation of IT investments.
* Develops business process and application roadmaps, defining application scope and resolving conflicts. Influences business process model with new applications. Can revise IT architecture as new business strategies emerge
* Effectively manages competing priorities, eliminates roadblocks and creates focus. Accurately scopes out lengthy and difficult projects. Manages multi-project programs that cross multiple years, regions and/or customers. Adept at directing and influencing an extended team
* Adept at influencing business process and organizational change. Consults business leaders on to-be process design and gaps to be overcome. Works with business to ensure user adoption and project benefit realization.
* Experienced using structured methodologies. Strong understanding of SDLC concepts and usage. Ensures adherence to PS-IT standards and development methodology (i.e. PRISM). Ensures the quality of application project delivery including a properly functioning/performing application with necessary user and IT support staff education and documentation. Drives quality throughout all testing phases.
* Experienced with managing in house and out of house staff. Experience with near shore and off shore contract resources. Can make things work through others without being there.
* Leads America's budget planning efforts. Responsible for budgets in designated areas of responsibility. Experienced developing and managing large complex project budgets.
* Fosters an environment which encourages effective working relationships with other functional groups within and outside of Power Solutions, including Corporate, Automotive Experience, Building Efficiency and vendors.
* Establishes both regular/structured and adhoc opportunities to communicate with employees/teams. Communication is two ways allowing employees/ teams to provide feedback and report outs that drive accountability and results
* Work style/ethic needs mirrors that of Power Solutions and IT culture, that being results oriented with a with a "do what it takes" attitude. Is action oriented, not overly methodical or slow to act on opportunities. Demonstrates humility, keeps an open-mind and is able to modify own position in response to others' inputs.

Qualifications

* Bachelor of Science Degree required. Business (Operations Management preferred), Computer Science, or Engineering emphasis preferred.
* Masters of Business Administration degree preferred.
* 15 years of manufacturing industry experience with five years running an IT organization or a significantly sized application development organization
* Lean, Six Sigma and/or Business Process Management experience a plus
* APICS and PMI designations preferred
* Cross region responsibility will require travel.
* Experience in a global company working across major geographic regions (Latin America preferred)
* Multi-lingual skills (i.e. Spanish) desired.
