Perform as a professional in a highly critical environment, requiring the utmost level of concentration and exacting well planned actions. Will perform a variety of services in a highly specialized building systems arena. Will perform daily in a well planned and executed fashion sharing in the sense of urgency surrounding mission critical operations and facilities.
Under close supervision assists in performing basic service in a specialized building system area such as mechanical, electrical / electronic, hydraulics, carpentry, painting, locksmith or machine servicing, etc.
1. Assist in performing basic O&M service work in a specialized building system area such as mechanical, electrical / electronic, hydraulics, carpentry, painting, locksmith, machine servicing, landscaping, snow removal etc.
2. Performs safety check on heating, cooling and other equipment.
3. Must comply with work order system to include interpreting work orders, performing work requested and completing work orders with general direction.
4. May perform the replacement of minor electrical devices.
5. May operate and maintain heavy machines, forklifts or groundskeeping equipment.
6. Moves furniture and equipment as assigned.
7. May assist in layout, construction and repair of a variety of plant or office structures such as walls, partitions, doors, concrete forms, raised floors, ceiling tiles or roofs.
8. Assists in the selection and layout of required materials per work orders or verbal instructions.
9. May be required to assist with requisitioning new supplies and equipment.
10. Complies with all company critical site policies and procedures and adheres to company standards.
11. Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures Assists other trades when required.
12. Willingness to "cross train with other building trades.
13. Assists other trades when required.
14. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
1. Participation in or completion of a technical / apprenticeship program or equivalent and a minimum of two years hands-on maintenance experience.
2. Requires basic knowledge of the fundamentals of a trade, sufficient to deal with basic service and repairs.
3. Requires ability to work from drawings or verbal instructions
4. Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes ability to: climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., etc.
5. Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
6. May be required to use a variety of hand and power tools or forklift.
7. May be required to possess a valid driver's license.
