RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Under general direction, provides leadership for Applied sales efforts, activities, and results within Systems NA. Drives account management and portfolio selling strategies, to facilitate the profitable growth of the systems business. Directs the development, deployment and execution of sales strategies, programs, processes, and tools to achieve the sales objectives for the Applied business. Provides a continuous improvement focus, market expertise and sales support to the North American Applied sales business.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. Delivers planned business results to grow market share in the Applied market across Applied lines of business for Systems including third party channels.
2. Leads regional management in the development of the Applied market strategic plan components and annual sales plans. Assists VP of HVAC Sales in creation and implementation of Systems NA strategic plan and annual sales plans.
3. With the Regional Vice Presidents, Major Projects Sales Managers, Applied Product Sales Managers, Branch Managers and Branch Account Managers, plans, organizes and builds teams to meet Account Management business objectives for key, target, managed, and maintained consultant and contractor accounts focused on building "best in every market" relationships leading to market share growth. Ensures that planned staffing activities occur, including recruiting, selection, development and succession.
4. Owns Applied growth and CI metrics. Identifies and steers new market growth opportunities for the Applied sector. Provides construction market expertise to drive the development of transactional market value propositions, offerings, strategy.
5. Identifies, develops, and manages strategic relationships to facilitate Applied sales business growth, including trade associations, marketing consultants, subcontractors.
6. Directs Applied sales performance productivity to established standards. Develops and reviews metrics to ensure productivity levels are achieved. Facilitates consistent market sales processes and offerings across all regions. Assists in developing and coordinating the implementation of process and productivity measurements and review.
7. Leads assigned areas in regional and local marketing efforts, including regional and local trade shows, participation in relevant industry associations, advertising, and public relations.
8. Facilitates communication and sharing of 'best practices' among Areas. Identifies requirements and assigns priorities to assist in the development of products, programs, tools, and support requirements.
9. Verifies that assigned Areas are engaged in consistent processes to assess Applied sales performance, including the measurement of individual selling skills, and training inventory and recommends appropriate improvements.
10. In coordination with the regional management teams, directs the branch offices with building strategic consultant and contractor accounts and opportunities. Engages in and supports strategic account reviews, critical opportunity reviews, executive level meetings, and presentations.
11. Oversees direct business development and account management for appropriate clients and opportunities.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, marketing, a related field or equivalent experience, MBA preferred. Eight to ten years experience in construction marketing and sales, including three to five years of sales or marketing management experience and direct sales experience. Demonstrated knowledge of construction marketplace, and relationships with key players in the construction market.
