Responsibility Level:

The Johnson Controls- Saft Advanced Hybrid Software Team is searching for an individual interested in contributing on a team tasked with developing new energy storage technology for vehicles of the future. We are searching for an experienced On Board Diagnostic Second Generation (OBDII) Algorithm and Software engineer who will join our team to design, develop, and calibrate OBDII algorithms and software for our Advanced Hybrid Battery Systems software. This individual should be highly motivated and ready to contribute to the success of the team.

Typical Duties:

1. Lead the global JCS diagnostic strategy worldwide.
2. Work with JCS customers to specify how OBDII legislative requirements are included in JCS software and electronics hardware designs.
3. Develop a diagnostic strategy for the battery control system that meets OBDII requirements for sensor electrical, sensor plausibility, and battery algorithm diagnostics.
4. Work with the software requirements engineer to lead the development of the software specifications for OBDII diagnostic functions.
5. Lead the review of OBDII software models with the system, software, and hardware teams.
6. Assist in the development of test plans for the software test bench and vehicles.
7. Calibrate, or assist in the calibration of, OBDII software functions in the battery management system.
8. Support customer test trips and validation of OBDII functions in vehicles.
9. Member of Hybrid Battery Systems team, participating in meetings and reviews as directed.
10. Communicate with extended software team in other JCS locations.

Qualifications

Requirements:

* BS in Computer, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from accredited four-year college or university. MS degree is desirable.
*

6+ years of automotive embedded systems software development, calibration, and/or algorithm development is required.

* Experience working with Automotive OEMs or large Tier 1 suppliers designing, implementing or calibrating OBDII diagnostic functions is required.
* Experience working with the government regulating groups for OBDII diagnostics is highly desired.
* Experience as a technical lead in OBDII diagnostic implementation is highly desired.
* Experience maintaining and releasing calibrations for embedded controllers is highly desired.
* Experience with Matlab, Simulink, and Autocode generation is highly desired.
* Experience with high voltage EV/HEV systems is desired.
* Excellent overall technical and communication skills.
* 10-20% travel expected.
