Executive-level sales position for State Government vertical markets in SE Region. Responsibilities include development and execution of vertical market sales plans for each assigned state government market. Establish, execute and maintain strategic account plans for each assigned target account to drive profitable sales, revenue and client satisfaction. Provide account team leadership to consistently move sales opportunities through sales process to successful close within acceptable time frames and within defined profit targets. Establish, maintain and leverage relationships within executive levels of assigned state government administrations and agencies to drive sustained business portfolio and order flow.
Responsibilities also include business development and account management with state agencies through direct contact with state executive levels (Governor and immediate executive staff, state agency directors, legislators and facility operators), providing energy efficiency solution programs with minimal supervision. Previous sales experience to state agencies, sales of energy efficiency programs, knowledge of state procurement procedures, political etiquette and state ethics policies highly desired. Candidate must possess strong leadership skills in a team environment to provide account team direction and coordination of activities to consistently move sales opportunities through internal sales process and state government procurement steps to successful close within acceptable timeframes and defined profit targets. Typical sales cycle is 6-18 months. Excellent verbal and written communications and organizational skills required. Working knowledge of MS Office and Lotus Notes Domino preferred.
Qualifications
A Bachelors degree in engineering, business or related discipline, and a minimum of 5 years of high level relationship sales experience with government, major companies or complex accounts is required. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of supply/demand side energy issues as they relate to facility operations and energy efficiency. This position offers a highly competitive base salary in addition to a lucrative incentive program.
